Hello to all our Cobra squadron mates and maties. Just want to update everyone on our reunion plans for Great Lakes, IL, July 25-28. The reunion committee is making great progress on finalizing key plans for this upcoming reunion. Lodging accommodations are available for reservation at the Navy Lodge for $100/night but rooms are going fast. There are 21 rooms already booked of the 35 we were able to block so if you are wanting one you had better hurry. For reservations call 847-689-1485, press “4” for the front desk, tell them you are with the VP-60 reunion. We are in contact with them to see if they can block another 15 rooms or so. Also Navy Gateway Inn and Suites can be booked starting June 25th. We were not able to block any of these rooms because this is considered leisure travel and only allowed to book 30 days in advance. These rooms are currently $137/night.

There is also interest in a Chicago River/Lake tour cruise but at this time we are having difficulty with transportation arrangements. Hopefully we will have more information on this in the next newsletter.
We have TWO great Emcee’s for Saturday’s dinner, Capt. William “LePerl” Perlmutter and CNAVRES Force Master Chief Chris “I really wanted to be an FE” Glennon. They are soliciting some personal anecdotes that they guarantee will not be embellished on nor will individual rank be divulged. Please send your inputs to Capt. Perlmutter at leperl (at) embarqmail.com and/or to MCPO Glennon at ccgforce10 (at) gmail.com I know these two gentlemen will represent the United States Navy in the finest naval tradition.
Lastly by the end of April we will be sending out the reunion reservation forms. This form must be filled out and payment submitted for the events you plan to attend to the address listed on the bottom of the form. All forms and monies must be received NLT June 15, 2024.
We hope to see you all in July.
God Bless America,
